Once opened, our new eco pouches begin to biodegrade immediately, taking just 1% of the time compared to traditional plastic. That’s 500 years down to 5 years with no trace of microplastics in the soil or sea!
This environmentally friendly biodegradable material can be disposed of in general waste, recycling bins and home composts - it will biodegrade in all environments.
How do they work?
Our new sachets behave like a conventional plastic during their useful lifetime - don’t worry your sachet won’t start to biodegrade while your mask is still inside!
Once you’ve used your mask, the sachet is exposed to oxygen and so it will begin its breakdown process. It doesn’t need any specific conditions for this to happen so whether you pop it onto your compost heap or into your general waste bin, it will still biodegrade.
It breaks down until it is nothing more than carbon dioxide, water and organic matter - so it will no longer be a plastic. This means rather than accumulating and posing a threat to our planet as so many plastics currently do, our sachets will instead be recycled back into nature through the process of biodegradation where it will be absorbed by bacteria, fungi and other living organisms.
The sheet masks themselves are also biodegradable. Constructed using bamboo fibres, they are not only gentler on the skin, they will also biodegrade in 75 days. This means you can enjoy your pamper guilt free!

There's no denying everyone loves to use a sheet mask, whether it's part of your daily routine or a weekly treat. But sheet masks are one of the latest beauty products to be called out for their negative impact on the environment due to the single use plastic used in its packaging.
Sustainability and environmental issues have always been incredibly important to us here at BEAUTYPRO, and this is at the core of our product development - there is no planet B!
We're not afraid to say we've been part of the problem, but knew we wanted to do something about it. So we set ourselves the challenge of being the world's first sheet mask brand to develop a fully biodegradable and compostable pouch.
By 2027 we hope to make all of our products biodegradable. This is just the next step of our sustainability journey.

VITAMIN C Facial Sheet Mask
Get your glow with our VITAMIN C Facial Sheet Mask. This plant based formula uses Blueberry, Yuzu Citrus and Sea Buckthorn to help you to achieve energised, hydrated and smooth skin.
This 15 minute Vitamin C treatment minimises the signs of tiredness and ageing by kickstarting collagen production to renew the skin. This results in skin that feels elastic, even and ready to face the day.
HYALURONIC ACID Facial Sheet Mask
Lock in essential hydration with our HYALURONIC ACID Facial Sheet Mask. This plant based formula uses Chamomile, Soybean and Wild Rose to help you to achieve healthy, supple and radiant skin.
This 15 minute Hyaluronic Acid treatment promotes hydration in your skin to ensure that it can efficiently renew cells, soothe redness and prevent breakouts. This results in skin that feels nourished and replenished.
RETINOL Facial Sheet Mask
Condition your skin with our RETINOL Facial Sheet Mask. This plant based formula uses Seaweed Kelp Complex, Organic Pine Oil and Wild Yam to help you to achieve skin that’s clear and youthful.
This 15 minute Retinol treatment is a great choice for those looking to target acne or the signs of ageing due to it stimulating collagen production to help aid repair. This renewing formula will help to diminish fine lines, minimise inflammation, reduce pore size, even the skin tone and protect from free radicals.
CICA + NIACINAMIDE Facial Sheet Mask
A powerful all in one formula, our Cica + Niacinamide Facial Sheet Mask has been created to rebalance, hydrate and soothe the skin. This plant based formula uses Cica, Cassava Root and Chia Seed to keep your skin feeling calm and hydrated, with a clear complexion.
This is a great formula for blemish control as it helps to minimise inflammation, reduce oiliness and protect the skin from breakouts.

Let’s answer some questions…
Can I still just put it into my normal household bin?
Yes - or better yet, recycle it! This plastic sachet can be recycled in your household recycling bin, however if it is not recycled, rather than sitting on a landfill site for years, it will begin the process of biodegradation. We always encourage recycling where possible, but this new sachet means that if it doesn’t make it into the recycling bin, then at least we know that it won’t be leaving plastic waste behind.

How long does it take to biodegrade?
The shelf life of this mask is over 36 months. The pouch has been programmed so it will only start to biodegrade after it is opened and the air hits the inside of the pouch. After a shelf life of 3 years, we then expect it to take a further 2 years to biodegrade.
Have the formulations changed?
Yes and no! The RETINOL Facial Sheet Mask remains the same formula you know and love, however we have made some tweaks when it comes to our VITAMIN C and HYALURONIC ACID masks to make them vegan friendly.
You’ll have known them previously as our Brightening Collagen Sheet Mask and our Hyaluronic Acid Gold Foil Mask. We have now enhanced these formulas to bring you the very best potency and sustainability with the same skincare benefits you expect from these masks. These formulas are now 100% plant based and water free, using our bamboo fibre masks and bringing them in line with the BEAUTYPRO mission to reduce our impact on the environment while maximising on benefits for your skin.

Are your ingredients ethically sourced?
BEAUTYPRO formulas are derived from 100% ethically sourced ingredients. Our ingredients are responsibly sourced from world heritage sites and eco-farms to bring the best quality and potency to our products.
Are all BEAUTYPRO masks now biodegradable?
No. Our full range is not yet biodegradable - while we aim to limit our impact on the planet, it has not been possible for us to transition our full range to biodegradable packaging in one go.We will endeavour to continue making sustainable changes where possible when improving and expanding our range so this will be a continual process for our team. We hope to be able to transition our full range by 2025.
For now, our biodegradable facial sheet masks are: Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol and our NEW Cica + Niacinamide.

The product is still single use plastic
We know that people love sheet masks and the habits of the beauty audience are not changing away from sheet mask usage. We’re making a difference by offering a sustainable option that doesn’t compromise on results, price or ease of use.
While it is still a single use plastic product, it will biodegrade and leave no microplastics behind making it a better choice for the planet than a regular sheet mask.
